Spring is Coming!

Hi sailors!

Spring is on the way and the new sailing season will be on us before you know it! We've got some events coming up that we wanted to get on your radar:

  • Pub/Membership Info Night - March 23, 7pm at Sarah's Cafe and Pub (1426 Danforth Ave)

Come join us for a drink, catch up with friends, and register for the season! Have friends or family who are interested in sailing this season? Bring them along! Brand new and have a ton of questions? Come on down, meet the gang, and get all your questions answered!

  • Open Houses

We'll have people down at the club for a number of open houses throughout March and April. If you're thinking about joining this is a great time to come down, see the club, and get all your questions answered!

  • March 25,  1-3pm
  • April 1,  12-2pm
  • April 4,  6-8pm
  • April 8,  2-4pm
  • April 15,  11-1pm

Class Scheduling and Impact on Boat Availability

Please note the following class scheduling news that may impact boat availability.

Cat School is now running on Mondays and Wednesdays, in the evening. Cats (all Hobie 16 and Nacra 500) will not be available for recreational sailing. There will also be a Saturday session, on October 8.

CANSail 4 is now running on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This course requires 5 Albacores; given the advanced skill focus, it is expected that Ovingtons (i.e., newer boats with higher sail numbers) will be reserved, and that Skills Training or recreational sailing will use older boats. There will also be some Sunday sessions.

CANSail 1/2 make-up classes (due to several nights of poor wind) will require five boats on Tuesday, Aug 23 and Tues, Aug 30. Together with CANSAil 4, this means there will be no Albacores available (resulting in cancellation of Skills Training on those nights). There will also be a full class (10 boats) on Saturday, Sep 3.

We appreciate this may also cause some disruption to social sail and dinner.

A complete schedule has been posted in the clubhouse.

Club Crawl 2016 - Tributes

First party of the season - the annual Club Crawl!

On Saturday May 16, we're paying tribute to two legends who left us this year: David Bowie and Prince. And just because 3 is a nice number, we're throwing Michael Jackson into the mix for good measure.

Who better to inspire our Club Crawl theme than three of the most consummate party animals! So channel your best Bowie or Prince and let's party like it's 1999!

The party starts at Westwood and ends at Mooredale:

  • 6 pm: Westwood
  • 7 pm: J-Town
  • 8:30 pm: Mooredale

Admission price TBD but gets you light food and drink at each club. Tickets will be available for purchase from a Party Ambassador at the event. BYOB responsibly.
