The Westwood season opener is a great opportunity for anyone who'd like to get to know Westwood Sailing Club, our clubhouse and grounds, ask questions, and meet new sailing friends. For returning members, this is a wonderful way to reconnect with your Westwood friends. We'll have coffee and snacks available. Everyone is welcome!

We don't rest on our party laurels, friends. We're closing out the first month of the season with yet another fantastic and fun bash – this time with even more friends from clubs in the neighbourhood. Come on out for an evening of music, fun, revelry, and sailin' from club to club getting to know our fellow sailors and building stronger bonds within our sailing community.
Friday, May 5th is now gonna be one heck of a bash. We're combining the New Member Meet Up/Open House, the Friday Night Racing Opener, and Cinco de Mayo festivities so we can bring the Westwood gang together to kick off the season right! RSVP here.

Westwood is hosting a Red Cross approved Emergency First Aid/ CPR/AED (C) full certification, one day course. The certification is valid for 3 years.
When: Saturday March 25
Where: Westwood Clubhouse
Cost: $85
What you get:
1. A full day course where you will be Red Cross certified in Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED;
2. Coffee/Tea, light snacks, and lunch;
3. Learning these life saving techniques in the comfort of our wonderful clubhouse, and in the company of our fellow sailors and friends!
Payment is due by March 14, 2023 (NO EXCEPTIONS!!)
Please answer the poll on the Facebook group page to indicate your interest so we can make sure to have enough instructors, or book an additional date if we have an overwhelming response and sell out.
Westwood members get priority registration and can register now. Guests and non-members are welcome to register after March 4, 2023.

Alrighty! Well, we had such a good time at bowling a few weeks ago, thanks to Kate for getting that ball rolling! (see what I did there? lol) During dinner afterwards, people were asking when and where our next event is.
So! We are heading to Bar+ Karaoke Lounge (to be confirmed) which is located at 360 Yonge Street, between College and Dundas subway stations.
$25 gets you three hours of karaoke in a private room with your fellow sailors, and includes light snacks.
Outside food is permitted, and food delivery to the private room is also an option.
Usually, Westwood events are BYOB, but this one is not. You should, though, bring your singing voice, your good cheer, and lots of applause!
Any sailor knows that to be successful, things need to be upright. The mast, the sails, the boat, the crew.....
What happens when sailors go bowling? Come bowl and find out! This is your opportunity to knock those pins down, have a drink and laugh from a good healthy place!
Shamrock Bowl is a blast from the past and delivers the quintessential bowling experience. (Plus pool! Plus foosball! Plus pinball! Plus a stacked bar!) We'll have a block of lanes to bowl for an hour.
When the bowling is done, and we've worked up an appetite knocking all those pins down, we're heading down the street for some yummy eats at Lahore Tikka House 1365 Gerrard Street East.
$15 per person to bowl a lane. Shoe rental is extra and paid on site.

We can even go and sit in on our illustrious instructor Alex's educational seminar "Sailing: Experience The Silent Rush Of Power". It's a worthwhile seminar, and a great way to support a Westwoodie!!
We need a minimum of 20 people to buy tickets, and you can buy more than one ticket, in case you want to bring a friend, or a lover, or you want to attend the show more than one day.
